  • Acceptance Letters

    After completing the required steps, if it is agreed by the parent or guardian and the administration that the educational environment is suited to the student's needs, an acceptance letter will be provided, and the student is eligible for admittance.
  • Complete Registration

    Registration is completed by submitting a provided online link along with a $400 non-refundable and non-transferrable registration deposit.  (This $400 is applied to your first tuition payment.)

Tuition & Scholarships

Villa Madonna Academy is committed to working with as many families as possible to provide affordable access to our award-winning education. The tuition assistance program includes merit and Benedictine scholarships awarded by way of a tuition assistance application. Through the application, the Business Office and Scholarship Committee review and evaluate each family's situation to ensure that financial assistance is awarded fairly based on need and level of support available.

  • Tuition Rates 2026-2027

    Please note that the rates include tuition, materials, textbooks, and technology fees.
    • Junior High (Grades 7-8): $10,975
    • High School (in-district): $13,880
    • High School (out-of-district): $14,532 (Students who are not members of a parish in Boone, Campbell or Kenton County per Diocese of Covington Board of Education Policy P3220.) 
    • High School International Students: $18,060 
  • Additional Fees (Not included in tuition)

    High School Senior Graduation Fee: $80
    High School Senior Retreat: $250
    High School Junior Retreat: $175
    High School Sophomore and Freshman Retreats: $75
    Junior High 7th and 8th grade Retreats: $35
     
    Senior and Junior Class Dues: $35
    Sophomore and Freshman Class Dues: $25
     
    Junior High School Testing Fee (PSAT/NMSQT & District ACT): $60
    Sophomore Testing Fee (PSAT & PreACT): $40
    Freshman Testing Fee (PSAT 9 & PreACT): $40
     
    Fundraising Fee per Student: Fee supports Fine Arts Patrons (FAP), VMA Athletic Boosters, and Parent Teacher Administration Organization (PTAO) initiatives for Villa students including field trips, cultural activities, and classroom improvements): $100 per student. Maximum is $200 per family.
     
    Safety Fee: $135 per student. Maximum is $270 per family.
     
    Sports participation fees, daily lunches, and high school class dues are paid separately from the Tuition & Fees.
  • Discounts Available

    Multi-student: Discounts, tuition assistance, and scholarships are available for families with additional children. Please call Pam Wurtz at ext.126 to discuss. 
     
    Freshman Student Discount: An additional loyalty discount is offered to students for retention from grade 8 to grade 9. This discount is dependent upon the number of years a student attended Villa  according to the following chart:

Scholarships

Merit and Benedictine Scholarships are awarded to students based upon strength of the scholarship application, teacher recommendation forms, and available funds. The scholarship awards may be combined with tuition assistance allocations. All awards are based on demonstrated need and each application is reviewed confidentially and individually.

  • Junior High School Scholarships

    These scholarships are funded through the gracious donations of the benefactors listed below. They recognize academic performance and/or the school’s Benedictine values along with the potential financial need of the student.  
     
    The Jean Anne Hemsath Barsan ‘52 Elementary School Scholarship
    2 Scholarships – Renewable through grade 8

    Award Criteria: 
    • VMA elementary or junior high school student; 
    • Family makes financial sacrifices in order for their children to attend Villa;
    • Displays personal characteristics that embody the Benedictine values, particularly the values of respect, work, reverence, and hospitality;
    • Academics - Displays characteristic of perseverance in school;
    • Renewable through 8th grade but the students must re-apply annually. The current scholarship recipients will have priority over new scholarship applicants. 

    Class of 1956 Benedictine Scholarship
    2 Scholarships – Renewable through grade 8

    Award Criteria: 
    • Family makes financial sacrifices in order for their children to attend Villa;
    • Incoming 7th grader. Renewable through grade 8, if criteria met;
    • Displays personal characteristics of altruism and demonstrates potential leadership qualities;
    • Displays characteristic of perseverance despite academic setbacks.        

    Margaret Hay Edwards Scholarship
    1 Scholarship 

    Award Criteria: 
    • 6th, 7th, or 8th grader;
    • Displays commitment to excellence and achievement;
    • Involved in service work;
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
    Suzanne Sullivan Scholarships
    May be multiple scholarships

    Award Criteria: 
    • Student must have financial need; 
    • Academic excellence;
    • Displays personal characteristics that embody the Benedictine values, particularly the values; of respect, work, reverence, and hospitality.
  • Incoming Freshman Scholarships

    The following High School Scholarships are available to incoming freshmen who take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at Villa Madonna Academy on the second Saturday of December each year:
    • 1 Merit Scholarship of $2,000 - renewable for four years with a GPA of 3.0;
    • 3 Merit Scholarships of $1,500 each - renewable for four years with a GPA of 3.0;
    • A $1,000 scholarship is awarded to those who score above the 90th percentile - renewable for four years with a GPA of 3.0; 
    • A $1,200 Alumni Scholarship is awarded to the child of a Villa Madonna Academy High School graduate who achieves the highest score on the placement test - renewable through senior year with GPA of 3.0. May also be awarded to a Villa sibling, grandchild, or niece/nephew of Villa grad, in that order.
    • One Suzanne Sullivan Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need who earned a high score on placement test. The scholarship is non-renewable.
     
    Again, these are available to all incoming freshmen who take the HSPT at Villa on the scheduled second Saturday of December. Recipients are determined based upon the results of the exam, recommendation of the elementary/junior high school principal, and, if necessary, review of grades from junior high school. 
  • Additional High School Scholarships

    • Sr. Clarita Anneken Memorial Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0.
    • Sr. Carmella and Sr. Samuel Azzolina Memorial Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0.
    • Sarah Marie Barker Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0.
    • Carol Brown Schaefer Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school student who would benefit from additional financial assistance.  They must have financial need and display academic promise.
    • Therese Burden Scholarship:  This scholarship is awarded to a high school student with financial need, displays positive personal characteristics consistent with Benedictine values, and has a passion for history.
    • Class of 1959-Millie M. Niewahner Scholarship: This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior with financial need who displays high character, leadership potential, and a commitment to academics.
    • Kimberly Ann Collins '83 Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship will be awarded annually to an incoming freshman student who would benefit from additional financial assistance.  Must have a financial need and display academic promise. 
    • Rita Decker Gehring ’47 Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who would benefit from additional financial assistance.  Award criteria: Incoming freshman, at the discretion of school administration, scholarship may also be renewed annually assuming the following criteria are met:  Financial Need and non-freshman-minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent). 
    • Suzanne Deters Osterhage '76 and Amy Deters Bach '75 Scholarship:  This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a high school student primarily based on financial need.
    • Eva G. Farris Scholarship:  This scholarship is awarded to a high school student with financial need who displays positive personal characteristics consistent with Benedictine values, in particular service and community involvement, and works hard in the classroom. 
    • Irene Frisch Feldhues Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need and a GPA of at least 3.0. Student must be Catholic and preference given to a female, child of a Catholic school educator, and/or a student from Blessed Sacrament School.
    • Ron Flick Art Scholarship: This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a high school student based on financial need and an interest and ability in art.
    • Julie Kalker Memorial Scholarship:  These four-year renewable scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen based on financial need, commitment to the Benedictine values of service, community and hospitality, and academic perseverance.
    • Rosemary Haubner Nader '64 Scholarship:  This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman female and is renewable all four years. The recipient will display financial need, positive personal characteristics, academic perseverance, and be active in service. 
    • Margaret Moser O'Connell '54 Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school student who would benefit from additional financial assistance.  Must display positive personal characteristics, must be Catholic, and must show financial need.
    • Sr. Emmanuel Pieper and the Helmer Family Scholarship: The scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school student who would benefit from additional financial assistance.
    • Beth Menke Redwine '75 Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school student who would benefit from additional financial assistance.  The recipient must have a financial need and display academic promise.
    • Schleper Family Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need and GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Marge and Charles J. Schott Foundation Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who displays personal characteristics of altruism and leadership, academic perseverance, and has financial need.
    • Ron Staurovsky Memorial Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman female student who achieves academic excellence or perseveres despite academic setbacks and excels academically.
    • Suzanne Sullivan Scholarships: Multiple scholarships in varying amounts for students at all grade levels based on academic excellence and financial need.
    • Sue Hoppenjans Thelen Scholarship: This four-year renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman with financial need, GPA of 3.0, and displays positive personal characteristics.
    • Helen Wagner Scholarship:  This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior based on leadership and service and a GPA of 3.0.
    • Ellen Walton Scholarship:  This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a high school student based on financial need and positive personal characteristics.
    • Joyce Wolfe Neff & Lois Wolfe Avery Scholarship:  This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to a high school student based on GPA of 3.5 or better, positive personal characteristics, and financial need.
  • How to Apply for Scholarships?

    Students may apply for all scholarships for which they are eligible by completing just one application form. However, please note that different scholarships may require different types of recommendations. All Letters of Recommendation should be addressed to the Villa Scholarship Committee in care of the Business Office at Villa.
  • Application Deadlines

    Applications for scholarships and tuition assistance are accepted beginning in February of each year, allowing current financial information to be provided from the prior year's income tax reports.
     
    Scholarship applications including required letters and financial need online application (if needed) must be submitted by the 15th of April each year.

Tuition Assistance

  • Tuition assistance is available for all registered students.
  • Tuition assistance is based on need and family circumstances.
Families may apply for scholarships, for tuition assistance, or both.

Applications for tuition assistance ONLY (i.e., not applying for any scholarships) do not have a deadline. However, it is highly encouraged that applications also be submitted by April 1st to have the best chance of receiving aid.
