HS/JH Winter Sports

Winter sports include archery, basketball, and swimming. Registration begins in the fall. Students must complete the following steps to join a team.

1. Create a FinalForms account.
2. Complete all the required information on FinalForms.
3. Submit an up-to-date KHSAA physical.
4. Read and sign the Villa Athletics policy.
5. Submit athletics fee of $275.  Checks made payable to VMA Athletics. Checks can be dropped off in the office.
6. $25 late fee if registered after the due date.

  • Archery

    Our HS/JH archery program is open to students is grades 7-12. Athletes primarily compete in the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) which is proven to sharpen critical life skills: focus, patience, and self-discipline. Archery is a highly accessible sport, offering a level playing field and engaging students who typically shy away from traditional team sports.

  • Men's Basketball

    The Villa Vikings men's basketball team competes in the NKAC Conference, the 34th District, and the 9th Region in Northern
    Varsity plays between 25 and 30 games a season including three or four tournaments.

  • Women's Basketball

    The Vikings Women's Basketball Team is open to students in grades 7-12. They are coached by the 2025 Girls Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year Tony Fields! Practices start in October. The season runs November through February.

  • Bowling

    Bowling returned to Villa for the 2025-2026 season! Villa had teams for years and even had a bowling lane in the building. Over time interest in the sport declined, and the team disbanded, but it's back by popular demand!
  • Swimming & Diving

    The Men's and Women's swimming and diving teams are open to students in grades 7-12. They have a long history of success. Coach Katie Kurzendoerfer is a Villa alum and former swim team member. Practices are in the evenings at Silverlake. Meets run November through February at various pools in Kentucky and Ohio.
