Villa Names New HS/JH Principal

Joe Cordonnier will take over the reins as principal!
Cordonnier - known as Mr. C. - succeeds Pamela McQueen, who will transition full-time into her role as the academy's Executive Director after serving as principal for 30 years and holding both leadership positions simultaneously for the past nine years.

Following a comprehensive nationwide search, the academy found its ideal leader within its own community. Cordonnier brings 25 years of dedicated service to Villa as an educator, administrator, coach, and parent. He embodies the school’s Catholic, Benedictine values. Joe’s longstanding commitment to our students, families, and values makes him exceptionally well prepared to guide Villa into its next chapter,” said McQueen. “He treasures the relationships, traditions, and spirit that make Villa such a special place.”

Cordonnier earned a Master of Education in Education Administration from Xavier University and a Master of Education in Secondary Education from Northern Kentucky University. He has served as Villa’s dean of academics and assistant principal for the past eight years. His commitment to Catholic education was recognized in 2019 when he received the prestigious Diocesan Excellence in Teaching Award. Beyond the classroom, Cordonnier coached the Villa Vikings track and field team for 24 years. He is also the proud parent of two Villa alumni, Eli (’23) and Sophie (’25).

"Villa Madonna Academy has been my home for the past 25 years as a teacher, coach, and an assistant principal," said Cordonnier. "My family grew here, my passion for Catholic education grew here, and my beloved Benedictine community is rooted here. It is a dream come true to have the opportunity to lead as the principal of this awe-inspiring academy."
