Overview

The Parent Teacher Administration Organization (PTAO) is organized to provide educational enhancements, cultural, social development and recreational opportunities for the students of Villa Madonna Academy, grades K-12. Membership shall consist of all parents of students attending Villa Madonna Academy.

Purpose

To generate financial support for educational materials, programs, and services by conducting fundraising events;
To provide Villa Madonna Academy with equipment and/or improvements necessary to enhance the educational process for students in grades K-12;
To uphold the Benedictine values as endorsed by Villa Madonna Academy.

Meeting Dates

The PTAO meets the second Wednesday of the month at 8:05 a.m. in the cafeteria. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend meetings and participate in any of the committees.

Parent Prom	Jeni Demler			An opportunity for both parents to spend a fun evening with their high school students. Enjoy hours of dancing and dinner with your son or daughter.
Family Scavenger Hunt	Open Position	9/15		Families are encourage to participate in the 4th annual Family Scavenger hunt. Please contact Mrs. Bosley if interested.
Parent/Jr. High Event	Don Shields	10/28		A special evening of fun for all Junior High students and their parents.
Craft Show	Jessica Wainscott	10/7		Booths are rented out to community crafters on Saturday, October 13 There is also a bake sale of delicious homemade goodies!
Community Outreach		Nov.		This is a wonderful opportunity for Villa families to give back to the community and for students to earn service hours. We spend a November Saturday helping the elderly and disabled prepare their homes for the winter months. Families are encouraged to participate.
Santa Breakfast	Jenn Ashcraft	12/2		Students in K-3 and their families are invited to enjoy breakfast with Santa. Children will have the opportunity to make several Christmas crafts and have their picture taken with Santa Claus.
Jingle Bell Shop	Samantha Jackson	Week of 12/4		An opportunity for the students to shop for their family and friends at a very reasonable cost. Every elementary class will have an assigned time to visit during the school days.
Hospitality - HS Entrance Exam	Mrs. McQueen	12/18		Committee organizes refreshments to be brought in for PTAO meetings, Parent Night, high school admission testing, Grandparents' Day, and various activities throughout the school year.
K-6 Girls' Event K-6 Boys' Event	Lauren Brown Kristin Adams	4/1		A special evet for Villa’s K-6th grade girls and their mother and/or father. A special event for Villa’s K-6th grade boys and their mother and/or father.
After Prom	Jennifer Gray Amy McLagan			A chaperoned, alcohol- and drug-free alternative to typical prom night activities. A location is chosen to provide a night of games and activities, food, and great prizes! Every prom attendee is encouraged to attend this event.
Hospitality - Grandparents Day	Mrs. Bosley	4/29		Committee organizes refreshments to be brought in for PTAO meetings, Parent Night, high school admission testing, Grandparents' Day, and various activities throughout the school year.
First Communion	Anna Reis	5/7		Committee works with teachers and administration to host a reception for the 2nd graders. Typically, this is a third grade parent.
Graduation - 8th Grade		5/		Reception is hosted following 8th grade graduation for students, staff, family and friends. It is customary for the 7th grade parents to volunteer for this event
Kindergarten Celebration	Open Position	5/22		Coordinate with the Kindergarten teachers to provide refreshments for this memorable event. Generally chaired by 1st grade parents. Please contact Mrs. Bosley if interested.
Graduation - High School		5/		Committee works with administration to provide memorable events including a luncheon, ball and gift for the students. It is customary for the 11th grade parents to volunteer for this event.

Staff Appreciation	Courtney Seyfried and Lara Findlay	On-going		Committee has fun “spoiling" our teachers, staff and administers in creative ways. Previous activities include: monthly desserts and goodies, teacher appreciation week, Christmas gifts, and a yearend luncheon.
Uniform Exchange	Corine Daniels	August and May		Used uniform exchange enables parents to sell uniforms and spirit wear that are no longer needed. Parents set pricing for their items that they wish to sell. Items can also be donated to the exchange with the proceeds going towards PTAO.
