Students Shine at Model U.N. Conference

Students in grades 6-8 represented Italy and Australia at the three-day conference in Louisville. The team of 6-8th graders earned the Conference Life Award for creating a positive conference environment! Emily Robinson (in photo) was elected to serve as next year's President of the United Nations General Assembly. Carmen DeAtley-Rosales was chosen as Security Council President. She takes over for freshman Ksenia Miller who served as the President this year.  Madelyn Dekker and Emily received Outstanding Speaker Awards and Carmen received an Outstanding Ambassador award. Becca Ramdass was selected as VP Committee Chair, Darcy Jones and Rylan Kraemer had their resolution on abolishing the death penalty endorsed by the Secretary General. 

At the high school conference, Georgia Colvin was named Outstanding Ambassador, Ryan McLagan was selected to compete in the Showcase Round of the International Court of Justice, and the team's Croatian display was given an Outstanding World Expo award.
