English III -College Prep

After finishing The Scarlet Letter, we are going to do a brief overview of A Raisin in the Sun.  Make sure to bring this book to class.  Following A Raisin in the Sun, we will begin chronologically in American history, looking at Native American origin myths, followed by how Puritanism inadvertently incited the Age of Reason.

AP English III

After finishing The Scarlet Letter quiz, we are going to do a brief overview of the many, many novels that were options over the summer.  Students should bring any supplemental work that Ms. Shinkle assigned.  Students will be presenting their novels along with writing a paper. From there, we will continue into the textbook, looking at the idea of the "City on a Hill" and tying the idea back to The Scarlet Letter.
